# How to create a document from a pdf?

XSigning has two ways to create a document from a pdf.

**1)** If you don't need to edit the pdf content, select **New from Pdf** in the main drop-down list and then select the pdf file you want to use from your device. In this way, signers will select themselves where they want to sign.

**2)** If you need to edit the pdf content, please select **New Document** and then click on **Import Document** at the top right corner and select your pdf file. Your pdf will be now fully editable.
